I use a 5 star rating system on my blog. I don't really like it to be honest ... Some people just see the number of stars you assign and that's it. However, it is helpful for others to get a quick, overall impression of one's feelings towards a novel. I mean, I certainly prefer it on other people's book blogs, even if I don't like using them myself. Dilemma!
Anyway, this is just a quick explanation of what I mean by each rating:
- 5 star: An amazing novel where I loved pretty much every minute of it.
- 4 star: An excellent novel where I enjoyed most of the story.
- 3 star: A good novel that I liked.
- 2 star: An okay novel. I may or may not be too sure of my feelings towards it though.
- 1 star: I did not like this novel.
